Gallery - Events - Social with dem by Alex & Lisa Ivanets - Sat 08/03/2008

The following are videos and pictures from the WDC Social and Dem on Sat 08/03/2008. Are you in them?

The evening included a superb Latin and Show Dance demonstration from UK Closed Professional Latin Champions Alex Ivanets and Lisa Bellinger-Ivanets. They performed 5 dances - a sexy Samba, a snappy Cha Cha, a sensual Rumba, a fiery Paso Doble and finally an energetic Show Dance to the song "Money, money, money" from the musical Cabaret. All their routines were definite crowd pleasers providing an insight into top level dancing and excellent entertainment for everyone.

There was a surprise extra when Lisa "volunteered" our very own Kevin into an impromptu Cha Cha. Alex then proved that the WDC ladies could also rise to the occasion when he "persuaded" Gemma to join him for a Cha Cha too. It must be said that neither Kevin or Gemma knew this was coming (in fact nobody at WDC did!) and that both Kevin and Gemma performed beautifully without a hint of nerves - well done to both. It was certainly a nice touch from Alex and Lisa and took "audience participation" to the next level.

Alex and Lisa were very friendly and stayed to chat and have photos taken with the WDC party-goers, which was much appreciated by all.

The evening was great fun with a mix of Ballroom, Latin, and Latin in Line dances. Michelle and Sharon kept the party running smoothly and the CDs spinning all night as usual.

We look forward to the next dem night at WDC.
