The following are videos and pictures from the WDC Dancing Week Away to Club Orka Holiday Resort, Ovacik, Hisaronu, near Olu Deniz, Turkey which ran from Sun 05/10/2008 to Sun 12/10/2008. Are you in them?
The week was blessed with excellent weather all the way through with just the odd cloud on a couple of days which didn't seem to stop the tanning activity by the pools.
Club Orka has a range of villas and rooms arranged in a well layed out complex set against a beautiful mountain backdrop. The staff were friendly and helpful and you could relax by either of the two the pools and let the waiters bring your drinks from the bar. Despite a slight delay to outbound flight the journey was unproblematic and everyone (who could stay awake) got a good view of the Turkish countryside on the coach ride to the hotel.
The week was a mix of Ballroom, Latin and Line Dancing with a large contigent of Line Dancers being brought by Kate Sala and her team (Daan and Robbie). Thus WDC / Dance Away Promotions had pretty much all of the hotel booked.
The hotel was a 10 minute walk into the main town (Hisaronu) or a 10 minute bus ride down to the beach town of Olu Deniz. If you pick up a travel brouchure of Turkey, chances are it will show a long curved beach with a blue lagoon at the end of it - that is Olu Deniz - a gorgeous location.
There was a wide choice of food for the eveing meal (we were all half-board) and breakfast normally saw freshly made omlettes too. Lunchtime snacks were readily available by the pools or at the bars.
Both pools had a bar and the lower pool also had a water slide (loads of fun!!!) for kids young and old!
See the original Poster (420Kb) for more information on the holiday and location.
